A hearty congratulations goes out to the Princeton Day School Fencing team for their accomplishments at the recent NJISAA Prep State Championships. The PDS Girls foil team of Sarah Prilutsky '18, Nina Kanamaluru '19, and Kaveena Patel '19 earned 1st place. This is a repeat from last year, when PDS also won that event (with Sarah Prilutsky, Abby Cohen, and Christina Tian). The PDS Boys epee team of Luke Zaininger '18, Rohan Narayanan '18, and Charlie McClatchey '18 took 2nd place.
There were many individual event winners as well:
Girls foil; Sarah Prilutsky; 2nd place
Boys foil; Christopher Kiel '18: 1st place
Girls epee: Hannah Rafferty '18; 3rd place
Boys sabre; Jacob Tharayil '19; 3rd place.
Congratulations to our Fencers!
In Boys Varsity Ice Hockey news, the MAHL Semi-Final game against La Salle College High School was a thriller to the end with a final score of 4-2. Unfortunately, the team came up short in the MAHL Championship game against Wyoming Seminary, a nail-biter with a 0-1 final score. It was, however, an exciting and productive season, especially with that thrilling win over the Big Red back in late January.
The Girls Varisty Ice Hockey team traveled to their WIHLMA Championship tournament over Presidents' Weekend and left with a respectable 5th place with a win over Rye Country Day. They also competed in the Prep B Championship game against a stronger Morristown Beard team, securing 2nd place. They capped the season with a neat 1-0 win over Chatham-Madison last night on Senior night.
Finally, Volleyball took a tough loss to Shipley School in their league Championship, placing 2nd.
All in all, great play by all our Panther athletes, coaches and ever-supportive parents and fans. Get ready for spring!
