The Lower School Final Assembly
The Lower School Final Assembly

The Lower School celebrated the end of the academic school year with a final assembly at the Lisa McGraw '44 Skating Rink on Tuesday, June 5. Here are some photos from the ceremony. Head of School Paul Stellato began the assembly talking about the accomplishments of the past year, and the eternal lure of summer before turning it over to the Lower School students, who sang a rousing version of the favorite "PDS Song."

Next, the strings students performed two numbers, and then the PreK, K and 1st grade students came to the stage to sing the "Cat Medley," a selection of songs and rhymes in French, Spanish, and English. Next was a lovely song and dance presentation of the Water Dance by the 2nd and 3rd grade students, and finally an upbeat medley from the 4th grade operetta.

Three long-serving and much beloved faculty members Chris Hart, Betsy Rizza, and Andrea Schafer were serenaded with the "Panther Hat" song. Head of Lower School Alesia Klein spoke of the past year in the Lower School with great enthusiasm and gratitude, remembering each grade's projects and activities, and giving the graduating 4th graders a fond farewell. Happy Summer!
