Princeton Day School's annual service project for Lower School students in observance of the 100th day of school was especially meaningful this year!
Organized by Second Grade teacher and LS Service Learning Representative Beth Hatem, each grade from PreK-4 aimed to collect or create 100 items to be be donated to two local organizations, Home Front and Arm in Arm, whose missions are to help residents in our region.
Students fully invested their energy in the process of active service learning, deciding on themes as a class and preparing and organizing everything from dry and canned goods to letter- and card-writing to mask education. PreK students, for example, found inspiration in their positive theme for their card-making efforts, "Choose to be like sunshine! You are stronger than you think. YOU can make a difference!"
A sweet video created by Ms. Hatem and presented during a recent LS Assembly highlighted each grade's service efforts. Enjoy!
