Dear PDS Families,
Serving as President of the Parents Association this year has been a true privilege, made all the more meaningful by an exceptional group of volunteers and a vibrant school community.
This year, the PA brought families and students together through events and programs designed to connect, engage, and celebrate, working in partnership with the school to enrich our community in ways that reflect PDS's mission, vision, and values. It has been a productive and rewarding year.
Highlights include:
- Growing parent volunteer opportunities across all Divisions and reducing reliance on food and supply sign-ups
- Supporting year-round Admissions and Advancement events
- Halloween festivities, complete with donuts and cider for everyone
- Multicultural celebrations, including Diwali, Lunar New Year, Hanukkah, Three Kings Day, Black History Month, and Eid
- Two Faculty appreciation breakfasts and a beloved Employee Appreciation luncheon
- Lower School Welcome Back, Skating, and End-of-Year parties
- Middle School Fun Night and Skating parties
- Upper School Homecoming & Prom celebrations
- Grade-specific event support, including snacks, class breakfasts, and gatherings
- Boosters seasonal events for Upper and Middle School athletes, Winterfest, a Spring Tailgate, and support for our Senior Day athletic celebrations
- Our PA Blue & White Day station featuring hands-on activities for all students
- Monthly Lunch & Learn opportunities with Chef Brian
- Skate exchanges, service-learning support, and our second annual PA Parent Day of Service
- Environmentally focused activities, including Terracycle days, coffees in the garden, and special events in the Greenhouse and LS Teaching Kitchen
- Support for our Libraries with Book Fairs for all Divisions and facilitating Imagine the Possibilities
- Princeton Common Ground alliance with workshops and speaking engagements
- Music concert support, including celebratory receptions and dinners
- Art Gallery support for programs, receptions, the Winter Craft festival and end-of-year ArtFest
- Theater support for our school plays and musicals with celebratory receptions and dinners
- Division-wide grade socials, end-of-year parties and treats, graduation celebrations and gifts
- Campus walks, holiday shopping events, speciality classes, a Spring Fling, and an end-of-year happy hour for parents
- PA Meetings on executive function, AI at PDS, and college counseling
- Weekly communications via grade and class parent emails and newsletters
