Kids will learn to design on tinkercad and make 3d objects and toys. Once developed, we print them with a 3D Printer capable of converting a digital file into a tangible object. Kids can take it home and have lots of fun playing with it!. Our classes are designed for the next generation of creators; children who like to play, imagine, draw and share. We'll give you the tools to let you explore your ideas. Software and hardware simplification is making it possible for kids of young ages to work with tools similar to the most sophisticated companies in the world. We expect that soon our children will stop being a consumer and become an active part of the creation process of everyday things. Projects in this class will be different than in the winter.

  • All materials used in this club are provided.

Tinkergarten

Thursdays: April 10, 24, May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 (no class 4/17)

Instructor: Ann Louise Ennis & Naomi Kelly

This Spring, we focus on creativity—the ability to imagine original ideas or solutions to problems and make them happen. We’ll help children develop creative mindsets and strategies that they can use throughout their lives to invent new things, solve problems, express their ideas and feelings, and to nurture relationships. And, we’ll do it all through enriching, outdoor play!

Our lessons follow a steady progression and are organized into three units. In our Building Blocks unit, we focus on the Three B's—the three core processes that we use when we are creative. In our Creative Thinking unit, we use pretending to explore divergent thinking and discover many possible solutions to problems. In our final Creative Expression unit, we explore how we can express ideas and feelings through art, music, and movement.

En plein air simply means to paint outdoors. We will enjoy the fresh air weekly and study our beautiful campus. Children will express their own artistic vision through watercolors and ink. We will see our paintings change as the season changes. We will paint buildings, gardens, and leaves, whatever we discover each week that inspires us. Different light, shadows and the spring foliage will illustrate the changes to our paintings throughout the session. Each child will have their own set of paints, brushes, sketch book and pen which they will keep throughout the class and take home when the session is finished. Dress appropriately for outdoor classes.
