Athletics Facilities
Princeton Day School Athletic Center
Connected to and surrounding the School’s Lisa McGraw ‘44 Skating Rink, the new LEED-certified center holds four international squash courts and a field house to host sporting events and other all-School activities. It is home to Upper and Middle School winter sports.
Field House
The PDS field house has two all-purpose athletic courts; changing rooms; offices; concessions; and a welcoming and generously proportioned commons from which spectators will be able to watch squash, ice hockey, basketball, fencing and volleyball. The field house itself accommodates as many as 1,400 and will serve as the venue for key community gatherings such as Convocation, the annual Thanksgiving Assembly, end-of-year ceremonies for divisions, and other all-School activities and events.
Squash Courts
Princeton Day School is one of select schools in New Jersey with a suite of four squash courts and resident squash professional for the Upper and Middle School squash programs.
Lisa McGraw '44 Skating Rink
The Lisa McGraw ’44 Skating Rink, dedicated in 1998, is one of only three school rinks in the state of New Jersey. It is the home of Panther Boys and Girls Ice Hockey and Figure Skating.
Jan Baker Field
Jan Baker Field is a state-of-the-art turf field that is home to Panther Soccer, Lacrosse, and Field Hockey. Originally dedicated in 2002, the newly turfed field was re-dedicated in the fall 2012.
Baseball Field
The home of Panther Boys Baseball, the varsity baseball diamond is a beautiful, well-manicured field with a center field fence of 375 feet and 220 feet down the lines.
Softball Field
The home of Panther Girls Softball, the varsity softball field, solely dedicated to that sport, is located on the Southwest corner of our campus.
Pagoda Fields
Marked with the distinctive Pagoda viewing stand, these three multi-purpose natural grass fields host games and practices for Panther Soccer, Lacrosse, and Middle School Softball and Baseball.
Bill Smoyer '60 Field
Dedicated in 2004, Bill Smoyer ’60 field was the first artificial turf field completed on campus. It hosts Panther Field Hockey, Soccer, and Lacrosse games and practices.
Tennis Courts
Nestled among the pine trees and overlooking the Pagoda Fields, these eight tennis courts are home to Panther Girls and Boys Tennis teams in the fall and spring.
Bob Krueger Field
Dedicated in 2001, Bob Krueger field is one of the most pristine grass fields on campus. It is host to a majority of Middle School teams including Field Hockey, Football, and Lacrosse, as well as Junior Varsity Field Hockey and Lacrosse.
Cross Country Course
The Panther Cross Country course boasts a 5-kilometer on-campus course that features multiple terrains and grades. Both Middle and Upper School boys and girls teams take advantage of this course.
Upper School Gym
The Upper School Gym, the first gym on campus, is a multi-use facility.
Dean Mathey Gym
The Dean Mathey Gym was built in 1972, and is also referred to as the Lower School Gym.
Gymateria
The Gymateria houses a cafeteria for our Lower School students during the school day, and converts to multi-use room is also available for indoor field practices and after school activities.
