Panther Athletics: Strong Start to the Spring Season

Spring training trips are complete and our teams kicked off the new season this week. Boys Lacrosse won a thrilling opener in double overtime at Hun School, 9-8. Scoring were Jake Bennett '20 (4), Peter Shannon '17 (2), John Konopka '18 (2), and Coby Auslander '19 (1). In addition, Varsity Baseball won their opener at home over Conwell Egan, 6-5. Girls Varsity Lacrosse overcame an 8-2 deficit to clinch their opening game in Florida over Oak Hall, 13-12.

In Pre-Season baseball news, Chase Fleming '17 and Paul Franzoni '17 were awarded Honorable Mention for the Rawlings/Perfect Game PreSeason High School All-American Team for the Northeast.

In Post-Season news, ice hockey star Gia Massari '20 is the Town Topics top female newcomer for the winter athletics season. Director of Athletics Tim Williams is the Trentonian Boys Basketball Coach of the Year. David Coit '19 and John McArthur '17 were named to the Trentonian All Prep 1st Team, Chase Lewis '18 to the 2nd Team, and Jaylin Champion-Adams '20 received an Honorable Mention. The NJISAA announced the All State Basketball First team for this winter. Bridget Kane '18 was selected to the first team, girls, and John McArthur '17, David Coit '19 and Chase Lewis '17 were selected to the first team, boys. In the Mid Atlantic Hockey League Logan Kramsky '17 and Tyler Coffey '18 were named All League First Team, and Nic Petruolo '18 All League Second Team. In the Women's Interscholastic Hockey League of the Mid-Atlantic (WIHLMA) Annika Asplundh '17 and Kristi Serafin '17 were selected to All-WIHLMA First Team, Gia Massari '20 to All-WIHLMA Honorable Mention, Kiely French '17 and Kristi Serafin '17 to WIHLMA All-Academic First Team, and Allison Klei '17 to WIHLMA All-Academic Honorable Mention. Senior ice hockey players Annika Asplundh and Kristi Serafin were also named to the Star Ledger All-State First Team, and Gia Massari '20 - Star Ledger Girls Ice Hockey Rookie of the Year.
