Middle School iPad Pilot Program
Middle School iPad Pilot Program

In August 2011, Princeton Day School announced the kick-off of a three-year iPad Pilot Program for our Middle School students, beginning with a program for 5th and 6th grade students for the 2011-2012 academic year. At the beginning of the school year, each 5th and 6th grade student was presented with their own iPad2, creating a 1:1 student to tablet ratio.

As Steven Hancock, Head of the Middle School, who spearheaded the Pilot Program, remarked, "The iPad2 has great potential to positively impact a child's educational experience. Schools across the country are beginning to explore its use in classrooms, and we believed the time was right to pilot a program at Princeton Day School."

The safety of Princeton Day School students is always of the highest priority, which is why the devices are managed by the school, and used solely as an educational tool. For more information about the program, be sure to visit www.pds.org/ipad.

A unique and important aspect of the Princeton Day School iPad Pilot Program is that PDS faculty have created and designed new apps based on the comprehensive curriculum developed over the years at the school.
