Girls Lacrosse Wins Third Straight Prep B Championship Title

It was picture perfect spring afternoon on Smoyer Turf as the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team (10W-4L) vied for their third straight NJISAA Prep B Championship title against rival Montclair Kimberly Academy.

PDS jumped to an early 6-1 lead only to have MKA narrow the gap by the end of the first half, 11-8. Key saves by goaltender Maggie Madani '20 blocked the comeback, and the Panthers outplayed the Cougars to grab the title, 19-13.

Scoring were Morgan Mills '17 (8), Madison Mundenar '18 (7), Kyra Hall '18 (3), and Kate Bennett '18. Maggie Madani held the defense with 17 saves in goal.

Head Coach Jill Thomas remarked that she could not be more proud of this talented team of girls; the leadership from seniors Morgan and Abby Atkeson '17, and the dedication each player put toward this well-deserved accomplishment since the work began this winter.

Congrats to the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team for concluding their season with a Championship Title, a three-peat at that!
