In this award-winning musical, a charming and quirky group of outsiders discover they can stand out and fit in at the same time. The musical follows six middle schoolers competing to be the best speller, as well as the quirky adult moderators who barely managed to escape childhood themselves. First directed on Broadway in 2005 by James Lapine, the musical is the winner of two Tony awards, two Theatre World awards, three Drama Desk awards, and two Lucille Lortel awards. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is based on the book by Rachel Sheinkin, with music and lyrics by William Finn. The production also features improvisation and audience participation, as four lucky audience members will be included in the 'Bee.'

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is recommended for audiences over the age of thirteen, due to occasional language and references. Performances run approximately 100 minutes with no intermission.
