Congratulations to senior Abby Cohen, who has been selected to speak at the #LEADLIKEAGIRL: A Conference for Risk-Takers and Changemakers at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart on April 8. US Science teacher Charlie Alt, who shared the news, said, "Abby will be an amazing representative for the school, and our new STEAM initiative, and we are all very excited for her."
The conference, presented by Stuart Center for Girls Leadership, is a free conference for girls in grades K-12, as well as parents and educators, and "is designed to showcase and inspire girls' confidence, creativity, and leadership in STEM and entrepreneurship. Young women of all ages and their parents are invited to connect with experts, mentors, and each other." Please see more about the conference on the Stuart website here.
Princeton Day School is in the process of completely transforming our approach to the teaching of math, science, and technology in the Upper School. The plans include new pedagogical approaches to teaching these subjects as well as integration of cross-curricular skills in engineering and arts. In addition, plans are forming for a new facility for these new STEAM courses and plans to ensure every US student has access to this space.
